NORMAN – Fifty-two University of Oklahoma student-athletes have been named to the 2023 Fall Academic All-Big 12 Teams, the conference office announced Wednesday.

The teams recognize the academic accomplishments of student-athletes who participate in fall sports. OU's 52 honorees are comprised of student-athletes across four fall sports: cross country (13), football (21), soccer (13) and volleyball (five). Forty-three OU student-athletes were named to the first team and nine were named to the second team.

Eleven of the 112 Big 12 student-athletes nominated with a 4.00 grade point average are from OU. The Sooners with perfect GPAs are Colin Caso (cross country), Kailynn Jackson (cross country), Erin O'Brien (cross country), Josh Plaster (football), Kelis Brown (soccer), Cailey England (soccer), Muriel Kroflin (soccer), Alexis Washington (soccer), Kelsey Carrington (volleyball), Chloe Kaminski (volleyball) and Callie Kemohah (volleyball).

First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second-team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher, either cumulatively or the two previous semesters, and must have participated in 20% of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
