NORMAN -Ā After posting a season best 198.450 last week, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team remained the No. 1 team in the nation with an average of 198.113.
California remained steady at No. 2 (197.604), followed by LSU (197.596), Utah (197.533) and Kentucky (197.458).
On the events, the Sooners rank No. 1 on bars with a 49.596 average, No. 1 on beam with a 49.554 average and No. 1 on floor with a 49.567 average. OU is No. 2 on vault with an average of 49.396.
Individually, eight Sooners hold 17 individual rankings. Four Sooners are ranked in the top 20 in the all-around with Jordan Bowers coming in at No. 4 (39.650), Katherine LeVasseur at No. 9 (39.579), Faith Torrez at No. 12 (39.563) and Audrey Davis at No. 16 (39.542).
LeVasseur is the lone Sooners ranked on vault holding steady in the top 10 at No. 9 (9.90).
On the uneven bars, six Sooners are ranked including three in the top 10. Bowers ranks No. 1 in the nation on the event with an average of 9.942. Davis is No. 3 (9.933) and Ragan Smith is tied for eighth (9.917). Danae Fletcher, Meilin Sullivan and Dani Sievers are all tied at No. 18 (9.90).
A trio of Sooners are ranked on both beam and floor. Torrez is No. 6 on beam (9.913) and No. 19 on floor (9.913), Bowers is No. 8 on beam (9.904) and No. 4 on floor (9.938) and LeVasseur is No. 19 on both beam (9.892) and floor (9.913).
The Sooners are back in action Saturday night at the annual Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. OU will face No. 2 California, No. 16 Arkansas and No. 29 Washington in a podium quad meet inside the Fort Worth Convention Center.
