NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team remained the No. 1 team in the nation after posted a 197.775 in a victory over then-No. 12 Denver last Friday. The Sooners boast a 197.963 average through the first four weeks of the year.
California remained No. 2 with a 197.638 average, followed by Kentucky with a 197.450 mark. Utah (197.419) and LSU (197.369) rounded out the top five.
On the events, the Sooners are ranked No. 1 on uneven bars (49.531), balance beam (49.538) and floor (49.500) and No. 2 on vault (49.394). This is the Sooners first No. 1 ranking on floor since week one of the 2023 season.
Individually, seven athletes hold 15 individual rankings. Jordan Bowers leads the way with four individual rankings, coming in at No. 5 on beam (9.919) and the all-around (39.619), No. 6 on bars (9.919) and No. 7 on floor (9.925). Faith Torrez and Audrey Davis each hold three individual rankings. Torrez is No. 12 in the all-around (39.544), No. 21 on beam (9.888) and No. 21 on bars (9.894). Davis is No. 13 in the all-around (39.531), No. 6 on bars (9.919) and No. 24 on beam (9.887).
Katherine LeVasseur is ranked 14th in the all-around (39.525) and tied for 13th on vault (9.887). Hannah Scheible is also ranked on vault with a 9.881 average, good for 20th. Ragan Smith is tied at No. 13 on bars (9.906) and Danae Fletcher is tied for No. 18 (9.900).
The Sooners are back in action in Tempe, Ariz., when they take on No. 23 Arizona State and No. 2 California in a tri-meet on Friday, Feb. 2.
