Nine Sooners Earn 2023 CGA All-America Scholar-Athlete Status

NORMAN – A total of nine University of Oklahoma men's gymnasts received CGA All-America Scholar-Athlete accolades for the 2023 season, the College Gymnastics Association announced Monday.
Redshirt senior Morgan Seyler and freshman Ignacio Yockers were recognized with 4.0 grade-point averages. Seyler and Yockers were first-team selections along with senior Alan Camillus, freshman Kelton Christiansen, sophomore Emre Dodanli, freshman Mac Seyler and junior Dan Simmons. Sophomores Nikolai Kolesnikov and Brigham Frentheway were second team selections.
Additionally, Camillus and Morgan Seyler were designated as First Team Academic All-America Scholar-Athletes for all four years of their eligibility.
The Sooners earned national academic team honorable mention recognition.
The CGA honored 115 individual gymnasts as 2023 First Team All-America Scholar-Athletes for attaining a 3.5 GPA or higher and 44 second-team gymnasts for attaining a GPA between 3.499 and 3.2.
