Porter Moser announced the addition of graduate transfer Maks Klanjscek to the 2023-24 roster on Wednesday.
Klanjscek spent last season at Houston Christian, starting all 32 contests during the 2022-23 slate. He averaged 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per outing.
The Ljubljana, Slovenia, product, tallied 10-plus points in 22 games and averaged 23.1 points per outing over his final 10 contests. Klanjscek shot 39.9% (155-388) from the field, 35.2% (69-196) from three and 79.4% (100-126) from the free throw line.
"Excited to add Maks to our program," said Moser. "He is an experienced guard who is a high-level shooter and ball handler. I look forward to him joining us in the fall."
Prior to his time in Houston, he spent the 2021-22 season at Maine, appearing in 28 games and making 21 starts. Klanjscek averaged 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. He shot 45.0% (107-238) from the field, 34.6% (37-107) from three and 80.8% (21-26) from the line.
Klanjscek competed for Salt Lake Community College during the 2020-21 slate and spent his freshman campaign at Kansas City in 2019-20. At KC, he appeared in 25 games and shot 40.6% (26-64) from the field and 39.6% (19-48) from deep.
Before his collegiate career, Klanjscek was a member of the Slovenian National U-14, U-16 and U-18 teams, competing in the 2017 FIBA U18 European Championship. He ended his prep campaign at Hoosac School, helping the Owls reach the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council AAA Playoffs.
