June 23, 2023 | Women's Basketball

NORMAN – Oklahoma head women's basketball coach Jennie Baranczyk announced the hiring of Paige Uhr as OU's Director of Recruiting and Branding Strategy on Friday.

The new, innovative position will strategically place Oklahoma in the upper echelon of women's basketball when it comes to recruiting the nation's top talent and developing their brand once they arrive in Norman.

"We couldn't be more excited to add Paige to our staff," head coach Jennie Baranczyk said. "She'll be instrumental as we develop our student-athletes and help them maximize their opportunities on and off the court. She fits in perfectly with our vision here at Oklahoma and she is an innovator that will help lead us into this new era."

Uhr, a 2015 graduate of Oklahoma, has proven to be an invaluable asset and catalyst for unprecedented growth since her arrival at the University of Oklahoma Foundation in 2021. With her remarkable expertise in development, Uhr will play an instrumental role in empowering OU's women's basketball student-athletes to cultivate their own unique personal brands as they ascend to new heights, both on and off the court.

"I'm thrilled to join the Oklahoma women's basketball staff," Uhr said. "The task of revolutionizing the recruiting efforts and shaping the brand of one of the nation's most elite programs and its student-athletes is an unparalleled opportunity. As collegiate athletics continuously moves into a new frontier, I know that Oklahoma can lead the charge nationally as we bring and develop the top talent here in Norman."

Collaborating closely with key stakeholders at Oklahoma, Uhr will foster meaningful relationships within the community, forging a collective vision to devise strategic marketing and branding initiatives for current and potential student-athletes. She will serve as the primary liaison for the women's basketball program for NIL initiatives and other external-facing opportunities. As one of the few Directors of Recruiting and Branding Strategy nationally in the women's basketball landscape, Uhr will provide vital skills and tools to the Sooners that will set Oklahoma apart from other programs. She will spearhead OU's recruiting efforts as Baranczyk and her staff continue to recruit the top talent in the country, setting the program up to win at the highest level.

Uhr will officially join the Oklahoma staff on July 10.
