NORMAN - Oklahoma men's tennis head coach Nick Crowell announced the addition of Asahi Harazaki on Saturday.

"We are extremely excited to have Asahi join the Sooner family next fall," said Crowell. "He is a very explosive player with an extensive international resume playing at the highest level. We know he will be a tremendous student-athlete and brings the character and work ethic as well."

From Hyogo, Japan, Harazaki will join the Sooners for the 2023-24 season. He is currently the No. 1 ranked junior in Japan and the No. 31 18-year old in the world by UTR rankings.

Harazaki comes to Norman with a 13.19 UTR and a resume behind him. He has won eight combined singles and doubles ITF titles, competed in the Australian Open junior championship and has recorded a win over the current tennis recruiting No. 1-ranked junior, Alex Michelsen.

The Sooners will continue their NCAA run after taking down No. 25 NC State 4-2 in the first round.
