Oklahoma Adds Aspen Lenczner to 2023 Recruiting Class

May 30, 2023 | Women's Gymnastics

NORMAN – Head coach K.J. Kindler and the University of Oklahoma women's gymnastics program added to an already stellar 2023 recruiting class on Tuesday, welcoming three-time Women's Development Program National Championships qualifier Aspen Lenczner to the 2024 roster. Lenczner will join fellow incoming freshmen Addison Fatta, Hannah Scheible and Keira Wells in Norman.

From Oak Creek, Wis., Lenczner competed in the All-Star West (previously IES Wildcard) division at the 2023 Women's Development Program National Championships in Oklahoma City this month, finishing fourth in the all-around and seventh on beam. Lenczner qualified to her third level 10 nationals after placing in the top 10 on three events (third on beam, fifth on vault, sixth on floor) and eighth in the all-around at the Region 4 Level 10 Regional Championships. She also won the vault title at the 2023 Wisconsin Level 10 State Championships.

In 2022, Lenczner placed eighth on beam and 10th on floor at the Women's Development Program National Championships. She was the silver medalist on vault and floor, while also finishing sixth in the all-around, seventh on beam and eighth on bars at the Region 4 Level 10 Regional Championships. Lenczner shined on the state level with all-around, vault and beam titles, along with a silver medal on floor, at the 2022 Wisconsin Level 10 State Championships.

Lenczner qualified to her first Women's Development Program National Championships in 2021 after a fourth-place finish on beam and floor, and sixth place in the all-around at the Region 4 Level 10 Regional Championships. She was crowned the 2021 Wisconsin Level 10 beam and floor champion, and was a silver medalist in the all-around. She also placed third on vault and fifth on bars.

Lenczner was a level 10 gymnast from Salto Gymnastics where she trained under Vitali Rudnitski, Kristen Kremer, Brittany Solberg and Juliet Holden. In the classroom, Lenczner is set to graduate from Oak Creek High School where she has been on the honor roll the past four years and owns a 3.8 GPA.

The daughter of Daniel and Christine Lenczner, she has three siblings: Gianna, Brandon and Alec (Bagdarsian). Gianna just completed her first year of college gymnastics at the University of Arizona, while Brandon was a wrestler at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh from 2009-12. Lenczner plans to major in nutritional sciences at OU.

"I chose Oklahoma because of the amazing coaching staff and program that has been built," Lenczner said. "The team is inspiring to everyone in the sport of gymnastics and even people outside of it. All the girls were so welcoming, and I wanted to be a part of a big family, which is exactly what OU is. The campus and atmosphere are really like no other and I cannot wait to be there."
