Dan Simmons were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's At-Large Division I Team.
Camillus and Simmons are eligible to be selected to the CSC Academic All-America teams, which will be voted on by CSC members and announced at a later date. To qualify for the Academic All-District/All-America teams, student-athletes must have a cumulative 3.50 GPA and have competed in at least 50% of the team's competitions.
Camillus, a senior from Flower Mound, Texas, competed in all 11 meets for Oklahoma this season, and was named to the MPSF All-Academic Team. He scored better than 13.500 on still rings in eight of 11 meets and scored better than 13.500 on parallel bars in six of his seven p-bars competitions. He registered a career-high 14.050 on rings at the MPSF Championships, earning all-conference honors, and set a season high of 13.900 on p-bars in the NCAA finals. Camillus carried a 3.91 GPA and received his bachelor's degree in biology this month.
Simmons, a junior from Cypress, Texas, is a chemistry major who competed in nine events for the Sooners this season and was named to the MPSF All-Academic Team. He won a vault title with a career-high 15.050 against Simpson on Feb. 4 at McCasland Field House, and was named CGA Co-Specialist of the Week, MPSF Specialist of the Week and InsideGym Gymnast of the Week. He scored 14.000 or better on six of his eight vaults. Simmons set a career-high on still rings in the NCAA Finals and notched scores of 13.400 or better on five of his six rings routines. He also competed on parallel bars twice, scoring a career-high 12.750 on Feb. 4.
