Five Gymnasts Earn MPSF All-Conference Honors

NORMAN – Five Oklahoma men's gymnasts earned All-Conference honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation following the MPSF Championships on Saturday, the league office announced Monday.
 
Fifth-year senior Spencer Goodell earned All-MPSF honors on floor exercise, vault and parallel bars, while MPSF floor champion Emre Dodanli received all-conference accolades on floor and high bar. Senior Alan Camillus was named to the All-MPSF still rings team, freshman Ignacio Yockers earned all-conference on pommel horse and freshman Kelton Christiansen received all-conference honors on high bar.
 
The top gymnast from each school in each event at the MPSF Championships was an automatic selection, and one additional gymnast per event was chosen as an at-large selection, based on the highest remaining score regardless of team.
 
Goodell placed second on parallel bars with a 14.400, tied for second on floor with his 14.100 and placed third on vault with his 14.600 score. He totaled 56.850 on his four events in the meet, also notching a 13.750 on still rings. The Tigard, Ore., product was an automatic all-conference selection on floor, vault and parallel bars.
 
Dodanli won the MPSF floor exercise title with his 14.400 routine and tied for second on high bar with a 14.350. He also scored a 14.200 on vault and a 14.350 on parallel bars to total an impressive 57.300 on his four events. The Milton, Ontario, product was an automatic all-conference selection on both floor and high bar.
 
Camillus, a Flower Mound, Texas, product scored a season-best 14.050 on still rings to earn OU's automatic All-MPSF selection on the event. He also posted a 13.500 on parallel bars on Saturday.
 
Yockers placed third on pommel horse with a 13.950 to earn automatic selection to the all-conference team. The Tulsa, Okla., product was the MPSF Specialist of the Year. Christiansen, an Arvada, Colo., product, registered a career-high 14.300 on high bar Saturday to place fourth in the event, earning at-large all-conference accolades.
 
No. 2 Oklahoma will next compete at the NCAA Championships, which will be held April 14-15 in University Park, Pa. Official selections for the NCAA Championships are expected to be announced Wednesday.
