NORMAN – After posting the highest score of the weekend, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team finished the regular season atop the standings with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 198.300. The Sooners have held the top spot for all 10 weeks of the regular season, including the past four weeks since rankings were determined by NQS this season.
For their regular season finale and Senior Day meet, the Sooners posted a 198.400 against No. 14 Arizona State (195.925) to earn the third-highest score in the country this year (it also posted a national-best 198.575 three weeks ago) and tied for the seventh-best total in program history. The score helped OU hold the highest NQS in program and NCAA women's college gymnastics history with a 198.300. The last time the Sooners held the top spot for the entire regular season was in 2019.
NQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. NQS scores are used to determine seeding for NCAA regional competition, which the Sooners will be hosting in Lloyd Noble Center from March 29-April 1. The teams will be announced during the NCAA selection show next Monday, March 20. All-session tickets for the NCAA postseason event are on sale now. Click
