Sooners Set for Annual Intrasquad Friday Night

NORMAN – With the 2024 season just around the corner, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is ready to show off their new and upgraded routines at their annual intrasquad, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. CT. The meet will be held at the Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center and doors will open at 6 p.m.

This year, the Sooners are partnering with the OU Food Pantry to give back to the Norman community. Admission for the meet is free with a canned or packaged food donation to the food pantry. Fans will also receive a Whataburger coupon for donating.

The Sooners will perform full routines on all four events and be judged in front of fans. There will be raffle drawings for a variety of prizes, including a pair of season tickets, throughout the event along with post-meet autographs with the 2024 squad. A representative from the ticket office will be in attendance for those wishing to purchase tickets for the 2024 season.

For fans coming to the intrasquad, the Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center is located in Norman, north of the Lloyd Noble Center (LNC) by the intersection of South Jenkins Avenue and Imhoff Avenue. Parking is available across the street at the LNC. We're excited to welcome fans to the newly updated Sam Viersen facility. To protect the new carpet and equipment, fans in attendance will be asked to wear provided shoe coverings.

Coming off its sixth national championship and third in the last five years, the 2024 women's gymnastics team returns six gymnasts who combined for seven All-America honors in seniors Ragan Smith, Audrey Davis and Katherine LeVasseur, juniors Danielle Sievers and Jordan Bowers and sophomore Faith Torrez.

Smith has opted to use her extra year due to COVID-19 to return for a fifth season. In addition to the returners, the Sooners bring in freshmen Aspen Lenczner, Hannah Scheible and Keira Wells.

The Sooners will have exciting matchups in the LNC in 2024, including a March 1 battle against the 2021 National Champion Michigan Wolverines and a March 17 matchup with future SEC foe, Alabama. The Sooners will also host Denver on January 26 for the home opener, along with a Feb. 9 quad meet against BYU, TWU and Utah State and a Feb. 23 conference dual with West Virginia.

Season tickets to watch the back-to-back and six-time national champion Oklahoma women's gymnastics team's 2024 home campaign are now available. General admission season tickets are $35 for adults, while seniors (55+) and youth (6-18) are $25.
