Men's Tennis Announces Spring Schedule

NORMAN – University of Oklahoma head men's tennis coach Nick Crowell and Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione announced the 2024 OU men's tennis spring schedule Friday. The 2024 slate features 14 matches at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

"We are very excited about the schedule this spring," Crowell said. "We start the season with four matches at home before heading out to play the ITA Kickoff. We would love to build momentum early and have massive crowds out in January. Our home schedule is as good as any in the country and we finish up with our last season at home in the Big 12 with many of our familiar rivals. It's going to be an exciting season and we are ready to get going January 13!"

The Sooners will open the season at home against UTSA on Jan. 13. The Sooners will host a trio of matches the following weekend, facing Oral Roberts on Jan. 20 and playing a doubleheader against UTA and Illinois State on Jan. 21.

Following their opening matches, the Sooners head to Knoxville, Tenn. for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The Sooners will face Washington on Jan. 27, while Tennessee and South Florida compete on the other side of the bracket. The winners from each bracket will match up on Jan. 28. with sights set on the ITA National Indoor Championships in New York Feb. 16-18.

Next up, the Sooners are back in Norman to match up against Wichita State on Feb. 2. They remain in Oklahoma to play Tulsa on the Golden Hurricane campus on Feb. 4.

The Sooners will battle against Florida State on Feb. 11 before returning to Norman for matches against Cornell (Feb. 25), San Diego (March 8), Virginia Commonwealth (March 10) and Drake (March 12).

A series of away matches begin against Middle Tennessee (March 15), Texas Tech (March 21) and BYU (March 23). The Sooners head to Orlando to match up against UCF on March 30 before returning to Norman for their final home matches of the season.

The Sooners go up against Texas A&M on April 2 and Baylor on April 5. Red River Rivalry and Bedlam matches will close out the season, with Texas visiting on April 7 and Oklahoma State wrapping up the regular season on April 13.

The Big 12 Championships will be played close to home in Stillwater, Okla., April 18-21. 

NCAA Regionals are set for May 4-5 and winners will advance to the NCAA Super Regionals, May 11-12. Locations for these tournaments will be released at the end of the regular season.

OU welcomes back fifth-years Baptiste Anselmo, Mark Mandlik, Alex Martinez and Justin Schlageter as well as senior Nathan Han, junior Jordan Hasson and sophomore Luiz Alvarez. Newcomers Hank Trondson, Asahi Harazaki and Kholo Montsi join the team for their freshman season.

The Sooners' home competitions will be open to the public for free admission.
