OU Announces Gifts Totaling $3.25 Million, Featuring the Do Family

NORMAN – University of Oklahoma Vice President and Athletics Director Joe Castiglione has announced three generous donations of at least $1 million, featuring the Do family, to support the OU football program and the university's athletics facilities. 

The three gifts totaling $3.25 million come as part of the university's "Lead On" campaign and will help usher OU Athletics into an unprecedented era of excellence. The Do family, investing $1 million, and one anonymous supporter's contributions of $1.25 million will help fund the Oklahoma football program, while a second anonymous donor's gift of $1 million will go toward athletics facility projects. 

"Lead On" will impact every area of campus, including athletics, and extends through 2027. With a goal of $2 billion, the campaign is the most ambitious in OU history. OU Athletics' portion focuses on providing a transformative  student-athlete experience and building world-class facilities.   

"We are so grateful for the outstanding generosity from the Do family and our two anonymous supporters," Castiglione said. "It is our mission to recruit and retain the best and brightest student-athletes, coaches and support staff from across the country, and these gifts allow us to look to the future with a proactive mindset to ensure we can serve in the most effective and competitive way possible. We are incredibly appreciative these donors share this vision with us, and we look forward to the comprehensive experience this impactful support will provide."

The substantial donations from the Do family and two anonymous donors will help guarantee Oklahoma maintains a decisive edge in recruiting and retaining the nation's best student-athletes while further elevating the university's capacity to provide a world-class environment for their personal growth .

"The Do family's continued generosity to our program is deeply appreciated, and our gratitude for our other anonymous supporters is equally immense," said OU head football coach Brent Venables. "Their  commitment and genuine support for our program allows us to remain at the forefront of providing life-changing opportunities to our student-athletes via an environment which fosters the development of uncommon men. The Do family exudes what it means to be above the standard." 

The Do family of Edmond, Okla., shares an unwavering passion for the football program and a paralleled mindset when it comes to the development of OU student-athletes. 

"Our family is honored to invest in OU's vision and the impact Joe Castiglione and Coach Venables have on all student-athletes and Oklahoma Football," expressed Hung Do. "We recognize the profound effect  collegiate sports can have on a young person.
