NORMAN – A total of seven University of Oklahoma men's gymnasts were named to the 2023 Academic All-Big 12 At-Large Team, the conference office announced Tuesday.
The at-large team recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at Conference institutions that participate in sports outside of Big 12 competition. The sports included for the 2022-23 season are acrobatics & tumbling, beach volleyball, men's gymnastics, men's soccer and rifle.

Emre Dodanli,
Brigham Frentheway,
Morgan Seyler and
Dan Simmons were selected to the Big 12 Academic At-Large First Team, while
Raydel Gamboa and
Spencer Goodell were named to the second team. Seyler was recognized with a 4.0 GPA.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
