NORMAN – After helping the Sooners post the only 198-plus road score in the nation this season, sophomore Jordan Bowers and super-senior Olivia Trautman were named the Big 12 Gymnast and Event Specialist of the Week, respectively, the conference announced Tuesday.

Bowers was named the Big 12 Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time in her career and notched her ninth weekly league honor. Trautman earned her eighth weekly league honor and first Event Specialist of the Week accolade. Persevering through injuries during her career, Trautman earned her first weekly league honor since her freshman year in 2019.

The duo were instrumental in leading the Sooners to the best score in the nation this season and fifth-best score in program history (198.425) in front of a sold-out and record-breaking crowd (6,473) at then-No. 9 Denver, which is now ranked eighth nationally, Sunday afternoon. No. 1 Oklahoma improved to 6-0 on the season and 27-1 in their last 28 meetings against the Pioneers.

Bowers and Trautman both fueled OU's 49.725 on beam, which represented the third-best score in program history and is currently the best score in the nation on any event this season. Bowers also contributed to the bars (49.625) and floor (49.525) lineups, which posted season-highs on both events. The bars squad also shares the highest score in the nation with a pair of SEC opponents, No. 2 Florida and No. 11 Alabama. Bowers is one of six Yurchenko 1.5s in the lineup for the top vault team in the nation, averaging a team total of 49.513.

Bowers had her best meet of her career, earning a career-high 39.700 in the all-around to take home her first all-around title this season and second overall. The Lincoln, Neb., native also took home her first floor title of the season and sixth overall with a season-high 9.950. On bars, she also matched a season-high 9.950, finishing second individually and helping the Sooners sweep the individual standings on the event. Bowers also added a pair of 9.900s on vault and beam, respectively. Her performance at Denver marked the first time this season a Sooner recorded at least a 9.900 on all four events in a single meet.

For the season, Bowers leads the Big 12 on floor (9.925) and in the all-around (39.625) and is second in the conference on vault (9.925) behind teammate Katherine LeVasseur. Nationally, Bowers ranks in the top 20 in four of the five individual events, including three top-10 rankings. She is ranked sixth in the country on vault and in the all-around, ninth on floor and 19th on bars.

Coming back from injury year after year throughout her career and always looking better each season, Trautman is the definition of perseverance and leadership. After missing Oklahoma's first three meets this season, Trautman was originally slated to compete in the exhibition spot on beam at then-No. 9 Denver on Sunday. Instead, Trautman made her season debut in the No. 5 spot and wowed with a career-high-tying 9.950 on beam. After her 2023 debut during the team's conference-opening victory, Trautman leads the Big 12 beam standings with teammate LeVasseur and is second in the nation on the event.

Oklahoma continues Big 12 play at home Friday night at 6:45 p.m. CT, against Iowa State inside Lloyd Noble Center. Season tickets start at just $25 and individual meet tickets are as low as $5, and can be purchased at SoonerSports.com/tickets.
