Moldauer Secures U.S. National Team Spot

NORMAN- Oklahoma alumnus Yul Moldauer claimed a spot on the U.S. Senior National Team for his sixth-straight year Saturday. The 2020 Olympian finished fifth in the all-around at the U.S. Championships in Tampa, Florida with top-ten two-day scores on pommel horse, still rings, floor exercise, parallel bars and vault.

Moldauer ended the competition in fifth place in the all-around with a two-day total of 169.139. He finished in third on pommel horse (28.044) and fourth on still rings (28.682). His 14.700 Day 2 score lifted him to a 28.450 two-day score on floor exercise. The former Sooner notched a 29.413 on parallel bars with a 15.342 on Day 2.

Junior Daniel Simmons finished in sixteenth with a two-day total of 156.950 in his first senior U.S. Championships. He improved his all-around score on Day 2, earning a 78.700. Simmons secured a 14.450 on vault on Saturday, as well as a 13.000 on still rings.

Moldauer will prepare for a selection camp in October to choose the remainder of the U.S. team for world Championships.
