August 11, 2022 | Women's Basketball

PARISTaylor Robertson buried eight of her last nine 3-point attempts and led Oklahoma to a 90-73 win over Lithuania in the team's second game of its French Tour on Thursday.

The Sooners, originally slated to play the U23 Lithuanian squad, ended up taking on the Lithuanian National Team, full of some of Europe's top talent.

Oklahoma jumped out to an early lead after Liz Scott scored five easy points, three of which came off an and-1, to put the Sooners up 11-5 midway through the opening frame. The two teams heated up over the next five minutes, combining for 30 points as OU led 27-19 after 10 minutes.

The Lithuanians battled back in the second, tying the game at 39 with a minute left in the half. Looking to create a lead heading into the break, the Sooners got buckets from Nevaeh Tot and Robertson to push the OU lead to 44-39. Robertson, OU's all-time leading 3-point shooter, started the contest 0-of-7 from deep but sunk back-to-back treys late in the first half to heat up.

Robertson continued to pour it on in the third quarter, knocking down four consecutive treys as the Oklahoma lead ballooned to 13, 58-45, with 5:30 left in the third quarter. Late buckets from Liz Scott and Reyna Scott grew OU's advantage to 71-57 after three.

With just 10 minutes left, Lithuania made its final push, scoring the first two baskets of the final frame to cut the deficit to 10 before OU regained momentum and extended the lead up 19 before a Kiersten Johnson steal and score punctuated a 90-73 win.

Robertson finished with a team-high 24 points on 8-of-15 from the field, all from deep. Liz Scott added 14 points, six rebounds and two assists, playing most of the minutes down low against a much larger Lithuanian side. Tot started at guard and led all Sooners with five assists, pouring in 12 points and collecting five boards in the win.

With the support of the Oklahoma men's team and head coach Porter Moser, who are in Paris this week, the Sooners sunk 13 3-pointers, with five different players getting involved. The team collected 44 rebounds and dished out 24 assists on 30 made field goals.

Now 2-0 on its French Tour, Oklahoma will run it back vs. the same Lithuanian team on Friday in Paris at 10 a.m. CT to conclude its French Tour before traveling home Saturday.
