Forty-Seven Sooners Named To Academic Rookie Team

NORMAN — Forty-seven University of Oklahoma student-athletes have been named to the 2021-2022 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team, the conference announced Thursday.
The team, comprised of 469 Big 12 student-athletes, honors conference competitors who were new, incoming freshmen at their respective institutions during the 2021-22 season.
Five of the 56 student-athletes nominated with a 4.00 grade point average are from OU. The Sooners with perfect GPAs are Hannah Bruhn (rowing), Ava Woolery (rowing), Ella Pappas (soccer), Olivia Lueking (track and field) and Callie Kemohah (volleyball).
Nominated by each institution's director of student-athlete support services, student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team must be new, first-time/incoming freshmen who have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial coursework and achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00.
The Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team was introduced in the 2012-13 academic year.
