NORMAN – Oklahoma baseball's postseason continues this weekend against No. 4 seed Virginia Tech at the NCAA Blacksburg Super Regional in Blacksburg, Va. The best-of-three series will run Friday through Sunday at Atlantic Union Bank Park.
The Sooners (40-21) and Hokies (44-12) will play at 2 p.m. CT Friday on ESPN2 and 11 a.m. CT Saturday on ESPNU. The time and TV network for the third game, if necessary, would be announced later.
Oklahoma, which won the NCAA Gainesville Regional with a thrilling weather-delayed comeback victory on Monday, will play in a Super Regional for the first time since 2013 and fifth since the current 64-team format began in 1999. The team is seeking its 11th College World Series appearance and first since 2010.
The Hokies lead the all-time series 2-1. The pair last met in 2018 in a 14-6 win for Virginia Tech in the Baseball at the Beach tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. OU last traveled to Blacksburg for NCAA Regionals in 2013 where they swept all three of their games against Coastal Carolina, UCONN and Virginia Tech. The Sooners topped the Hokies 10-4 in the final game to advance to the Super Regional.
