GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Oklahoma baseball team fell to No. 13 seed Florida 7-2 Sunday evening at Condron Family Ballpark, setting up a deciding game seven in the NCAA Gainesville Regional.
The Sooners (39-21) and Gators (42-23) will meet again at noon CT Monday.
Peyton Graham lined a one-out single in the sixth inning for OU's first hit of the game and later scored on a base hit by
Tanner Tredaway after
Blake Robertson doubled.
Jimmy Crooks brought home Robertson with a single to right field to tie the game, 2-2. Crooks went 2 for 4 in the ballgame.
Florida took the lead again in the top of the seventh on a single by BT Riopelle and made the score 4-2 in the eighth on a solo home run by Jud Fabian. A wild pitch, a sacrifice fly and an error scored three more runs in the eighth to make it 7-2. Fabian homered in the fourth inning and Jac Caglianone singled in a run in the fifth to give the Gators a 2-0 lead.
Cade Horton turned in his longest outing of the season, pitching 6.1 innings. He struck out eight batters and allowed two runs on seven hits.
Carson Atwood (2-4) took the loss for OU. Florida's Carsten Finnvold (2-1) entered the game in relief with the bases loaded and no outs in the first inning, and went the distance, allowing two runs on five hits.
