Coaches Caravan Returns; Starts April 28 in Tulsa
April 07, 2022 | Football, Athletics
NORMAN ā A former University of Oklahoma Athletics Department spring and summer staple, the OU Coaches Caravan is returning for 2022 and will visit cities in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. The seven-stop tour will feature the Sooners' three newest head coaches āĀ football's Brent Venables and men's and women's basketball's Porter Moser and Jennie Baranczyk āĀ and will debut April 28 in Tulsa.
Other stops are scheduled for Amarillo (May 10), Duncan (May 12), Houston (May 17), Dallas (May 19), Wichita (May 24) and Oklahoma City (May 26). Venables and Baranczyk are scheduled to speak at all seven events, while Moser is confirmed for the Duncan and Wichita stops, and will participate in more should his schedule allow. Radio voice of the Sooners Toby Rowland will emcee all but the Dallas function.
Each Caravan event, scheduled to run from 6:30 to approximately 8:30 p.m. and include dinner, will allow coaches to engage with attendees by sharing their coaching philosophies and their visions for their programs, and how fans can impact OU's success.
"I have been incredibly impressed with the mindset, attitude and buy-in from our players since I was hired in December," said Venables. "They are embracing our standards and they understand the importance of the culture, mentality and togetherness we're developing. The Coaches Caravan is an opportunity to share our vision with our fans and supporters, and how we're executing it. I'm looking forward to hitting the road and I know Coach Baranczyk and Coach Moser are as well. It's going to be a fun series of events."
Tickets for the 2022 OU Coaches Caravan cost $40 apiece for all but the Houston, Dallas and Oklahoma City events, which are $50 each (drinks also provided), and can be purchased here.
