Benas Secures CGA Rookie of the Week

NORMAN — Freshman Fuzzy Benas claimed his third CGA Rookie of the Week honor after his performance at the MPSF Championship on Saturday.


Benas posted a career-high 84.700 to take second in the all-around at the MPSF Championship over the weekend. The rookie claimed his first MPSF vault title with a 14.850. On floor, Benas claimed second with a career-high 14.700. He also secured the Sooners' highest scores of the night on still rings (14.000), vault (14.850) and parallel bars (14.100). Benas also delivered with a 13.500 on pommel horse and 13.550 on high bar.

The Sooners will take a week off of competition before hosting the NCAA Qualifier, Friday April 15, and NCAA Championships, Saturday April 16, at the Lloyd Noble Center.
