Guimaraes, Moldauer Head to Germany for International Meet

NORMAN — Current OU men's gymnastics senior Vitaliy Guimaraes and alumnus and 2020 Tokyo Olympian Yul Moldauer are set to represent the U.S. in Stuttgart, Germany for the DTB Pokal Team Challenge, March 18-20.

They will join 2020 Olympian Brody Malone, Asher Hong and Khoi Young (Stanford) in representing Team USA at the prestigious senior international event.

In the men's Team Challenge on Friday, March 18, up to four gymnasts per country will compete in each event with the top-three scores contributing to the team total. The highest-scoring athlete on each apparatus for each team will also qualify to compete for individual event titles the next day.

Moldauer and Guimaraes both retained their spots on the U.S. Senior Men's National Team at Winter Cup in February. Guimaraes won the all-around with a score of 83.950, and Moldauer took fourth with an all-around tally of 81.648.

OU will host No. 9 California at its final home meet of the season on Saturday, March 19, at 6 p.m. CT at McCasland Field House.
