Men's Gym adds 2022 Signee

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma men's gymnastics coach Mark Williams announced the signing of Adriel Izai Perales-Valencia on Friday, adding to a strong recruiting class.


From Tuscon, Arizona, Perales-Valencia is a Level 10 gymnast trained at Gymnastics World by former Team USA coach Yoichi Tomita. He will be an OU freshman during the 2022-23 school year.

Perales-Valencia was a Level 9 national champion on still rings and parallel bars in 2018. He was a Level 10 national qualifier in 2019. 


Earlier this year, Perales-Valencia was the 18+ all-around champion in Arizona, along with securing the still rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar titles.
 

"Adriel is going to be a tremendous asset to the team," said head coach Mark Williams. "He has tremendous physical strength and talent and will fit right in with the team. We are excited to have him join the Sooner team next year."
