NORMAN — University of Oklahoma head men's tennis coach Nick Crowell announced the Sooners' 2021 fall tournament schedule on Friday.
The Sooners are slated to be represented at nine events this fall, with different student-athletes competing in varying tournaments around the country.
"I am excited to see this team compete this fall," said Crowell. "Our schedule will give our guys every opportunity to push themselves against the best competition in the country. This will help prepare us for what is ahead in the spring and reach our full potential of winning championships."
A handful of Sooners will begin their slate in Destin, Fla., at the Battle of the South tournament Sept. 10-12. Oklahoma then sends a contingent to the Battle of the Bay in San Francisco, Calif., Sept. 16-19, while another group will represent OU at the Lakes Invite Sept. 17-19, in Frisco, Texas. A final group will compete in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, Sept. 18-20.
A group of Sooners will travel to Lubbock, Texas, competing in the Lubbock Futures, Sept. 26-Oct. 3.
OU returns to the Sooner State to compete in the ITA All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa Oct. 2-10. The Sooners then head to Lincoln, Neb., for the ITA Central Regionals hosted by Nebraska Oct. 21-25.
Oklahoma's student-athletes will split time to close the fall with some competing at the Big 12 Individual Championship in Waco, Texas, Nov. 5-7, while other Sooners will head to San Diego Nov. 3-7.
Crowell's team returns seven players from the 2020-21 season in seniors Mason Beiler and Matt Rodriguez; juniors Mark Mandlik, Alex Martinez and Justin Schlageter; and sophomore Nathan Han and Welsh Hotard. In addition, Baptiste Anselmo, a junior who transferred to OU from Georgia and freshman Jordan Hasson are set to join the squad for the fall competition.
The spring schedule will be released at a later date.
