NORMAN – Former OU basketball standout Danielle Robinson tips her 10th WNBA season Friday as she and the Indiana Fever open the season at New York at 6 p.m. CT.
2021 will mark Robinson's first season with the Fever. The veteran guard enters the season averaging 9.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists for her career, and ranks 19th in WNBA history in career assists, 14th in assists per game and 20th in free throw percentage.
Robinson spent last season with the Las Vegas Aces and played in all 22 regular season games. During the regular season, she averaged 7.4 points, 3.3 assists, 2.4 rebounds and shot 51.2 percent from the floor. The Aces made a run to the WNBA Finals with three-time WNBA All-Star Robinson starting seven of eight playoff games.
While at OU, Robinson led the Sooners to back-to-back Final Four appearances in 2009 and 2010 and finished her as one of three women's college basketball players to cross the 2,000-point, 700-assist and 300-steal benchmarks for her career.
