Eight Sooners Named to Big 12 Academic At-Large Team

NORMAN – Eight University of Oklahoma men's gymnasts were among fifty-eight selections to the 2021 Academic All-Big 12 At-Large Team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Sophomore Alan Camillus, redshirt sophomore Josh Corona, juniors Spencer Goodell, redshirt junior Mason Menser, sophomore David Sandro, junior Morgan Seyler and senior Matt Wenske were all honored as first-team selections, while redshirt sophomore Cesar Gracia earned second-team honors.

Camillus, Sandro and Wenske accounted for three of seven student-athletes to register a 4.0 grade point average.

The Academic At-Large Team recognizes classroom achievements by student-athletes at Big 12 schools who compete in sports outside of conference competition. To earn first-team recognition, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 GPA or better, while second-team members hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. All selections must also meet minimum participation guidelines.
