MANHATTAN, Kan. – No. 6/4 Oklahoma (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) tallied 26 points in the second half en route to a 37-31 victory over Kansas State (3-2, 0-1 Big 12) at Bill Snyder Stadium in the Sooners' first road game of the season and in Big 12 play.

OU entered halftime with a 13-10 edge over KSU following Gabe Brkic's second field goal of the game. The Sooners opened the second half with a pair of unanswered touchdowns to take a 27-10.

Kansas State netted a touchdown of its own to enter the final quarter of competition.

Jeremiah Hall tallied his second touchdown of the day, a one-yard passing touchdown from Spencer Rattler with 9:49 left in the contest.

Holding a 34-17 advantage, KSU found the end zone, but OU responded with another Brkic field goal, pushing the OU lead to 37-24.

Kansas State quickly responded with a touchdown on the kickoff following the field goal, narrowing the lead to 37-31.

Following a failed on-side attempt, OU ran out the clock.

Spencer Rattler finished the game 22 of 25 for 243 yards with two passing touchdowns. Marvin Mims tallied 71 yards receiving on four receptions, while Mike Woods and Hall each tallied receiving touchdowns.

Kennedy Brooks led OU on the ground with 91 rushing yards on 15 attempts with one touchdown. Hall tallied his first career rushing touchdown in the first half.

Patrick Fields led OU with nine tackles – all solo. Nik Bonitto netted a 70-yard fumble return to the Kansas State 17 to setup the Sooners' first points of the game.

AT THE HALF … No. 6/4 Oklahoma (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) raced down the field with under two minutes remaining to notch a field goal to take a 13-10 advantage over Kansas State (3-1, 0-1 Big 12) into half at Bill Snyder Stadium Saturday. 

Gabe Brkic tallied field goals of 40 and 27 yards for the Sooners, while also hitting an extra point attempt. OU’s lone touchdown of the half came on a 4-yard rush by Jeremiah Hall – the first career rushing touchdown of his career. 

Oklahoma scored on all three of its offensive opportunities.

Spencer Rattler led the Sooners through the air, going 10 of 12 with 100 passing yards, while adding 17 yards on the ground. Kennedy Brooks led OU on the ground with 27 yards on four attempts, while six Oklahoma receivers have double-digit receiving yards. 

Patrick Fields has a team-high six tackles, while Isaiah Thomas has the Sooners’ lone sack of the contest. 

Reggie Grimes forced a fumble on Kansas State’s opening drive, which was returned 70 yards by Nik Bonitto to setup the Sooners first points of the game. 

First Half Notes

• Oklahoma scored on each of its three possessions in the first half and gained 125 of its 141 first-half yards in the second quarter. 

• QB Spencer Rattler was 11 of 12 passing (92%) for 100 yards and rushed five times for 17 yards in the first half. His 11 completions went to eight different receivers and his only incompletion came on a spike to stop the clock.

• OLB Nik Bonitto’s 70-yard fumble return on the game’s opening possession set a record for longest in program history. The previous record of 69 yards was held by defensive end Cory Heinecke (for a touchdown) at Air Force on Sept. 1, 2001. The fumble recovery was the second of Bonitto's career (his first came in this year’s opener against Tulane).

• DE Reggie Grimes forced the fumble that Bonitto recovered. It was his second career forced fumble (other came in the season opener against Tulane).

• TE/H-back Jeremiah Hall scored his first career rushing touchdown on a 4-yard play in the second quarter. It was his 10th career touchdown overall (has nine TD receptions).

• K Gabe Brkic made field goals of 41 and 27 yards in the first half. The 41-yarder was his 16th career make of at least 40 yards, extending his school-leading mark. He is now 10 for 12 on field goals this season.

• DL Isaiah Thomas registered a sack on K-State’s final possession of the first half (OU held the Wildcats to a field goal). He has a team-leading 12.0 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss since the start of the 2020 season.

• LB Bryan Mead is playing in his 57th career game, extending the school record he set last week. The previous record holder was QB/holder Connor McGinnis, who played in 55 contests from 2016-19.
