Moldauer Set for World Championships

NORMAN – University of Oklahoma men's gymnastics alum and 2020 Olympian Yul Moldauer is set to compete in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan this week for Team USA at the 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
The 2019 alum is part of the six-man traveling team with USA Gymnastics. Moldauer will be accompanied by Alex Diab, Brody Malone, Stephen Nedoroscik, Donnell Whittenburg and Alec Yoder to represent Team USA.
Moldauer qualified for Worlds at the 2021 USAG selection camp September 14-18 at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. During in-camp competition, Moldauer notched the highest two-day all-around score (158.300), securing him an automatic bid to the Worlds team. Moldauer also delivered the competition's highest scores on floor exercise, collecting a 14.300 and 14.450 between the two days.
The 18-time NCAA All-American, Moldauer, competed for Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where the team finished fifth overall and Moldauer placed sixth in the floor exercise event final. As is tradition for World Championships that directly follow an Olympic Games, the event will not feature a team competition.
The men's qualifications will begin on Tuesday, October 19. Team USA will compete in subdivision four, which will begin at 9:10 p.m. CT. The Men's All-Around Final will be held on Friday, October 22 and will be live on the Olympic Channel at 4 a.m. CT, as well as NBCSN with same-day delayed coverage. The individual event finals will be held Oct. 23-24, at 2:10 a.m. CT and 2:25 CT, respectively. Additional World Championships coverage will be on NBC and Peacock.
