MLK Day Children's Book Readings Set for Monday

In celebration of MLK Day on Monday, Jan. 18, University of Oklahoma student-athletes will once again devote time to serving others, albeit virtually this year due to COVID-19 precautions.
With the importance of education and reading being a cornerstone, OU student-athletes will participate in a pair of live children's book readings via the OU Athletics Facebook page. The first session, scheduled for 9 a.m. CT Monday, targets children 7 and younger with the reading of Dr. Seuss' "I Can Read with My Eyes Shut." The second session, scheduled for 3 p.m. and geared toward children 8-12, features "Unhitch the Wagon," written by voice of the Sooners, Toby Rowland.

OU student-athletes have taken an active role in community engagement for years, and MLK Day is just one example of not only celebrating and reflecting on the work done by those before them, but also continuing to educate, inspire and serve others well into the future.
