The Year That Was: Rowing

March 23, 2020 | Rowing

OklahomaĀ rowing completed its fall season with a flurry of top-five finishes and competed at some of the most renowned regattas in the country, proving the Sooners can hold their own with the nation's best. Although the spring season was just getting started, Row U looked ready to race with an experienced squad featuring plenty of talent.

As we shift our focus to the health and safety of our nation, let's not forget about all we've accomplished.Ā Here are a list of some of our favorite accomplishments fromĀ the 2019-20 rowingĀ season.Ā

The Sooners raced at two prestigious regattas in the 2019 fall season, the Head of the Charles in Boston and the Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, Tenn. At the Head of the Charles, OU had a strong showing from its varsity four boat, taking seventh place amongst a strong field of competitors. At Oklahoma's final fall regatta, the 38th annual Head of the Hooch, four Sooners' boats raced in the women's open 2-, with three of the four recording top-five finishes and the fourth coming in sixth place out of 15 boats.Ā OU's varsity eight boats also posted two top-five finishes.Ā
