OKLAHOMA CITY – Sophomore Olivia Trautman was perfect on vault as the No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team earned a 197.650-196.000 victory over No. 25 Stanford Friday night at the Perfect 10 Challenge.

Inside the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, the Sooners posted their fifth-best score of the season to improve to 14-0 on the year.

"This is an environment we are going to have at NCAA Championships," head coach K.J. Kindler said. "Anytime you can get on podium, it is a perk. If you have this many opportunities on podium, your team is hopefully going to be more prepared when you get to the end point of the year and are in postseason. You are going to have a lot of experience which is invaluable. We love this event; I love being in Oklahoma City and getting a different crowd."

A year after earning a 10.0 on floor at the Perfect 10 Challenge, Trautman secured her first career perfect score on vault with a gorgeous Yurchenko 1.5. The sophomore tallied OU's fifth perfect 10 of the season and the first by someone other than senior Maggie Nichols.

The Sooners took home a share of every event title, including a tie for the all-around crown as junior Anastasia Webb and freshman Ragan Smith shared the title with matching 39.650s. The mark was a career best for Smith and the third score of at least 39.650 for Webb this season.

Trautman took home the vault title with her perfect score. Smith finished with four titles as she picked up floor outright and shared bars with senior Jade Degouveia and beam with Webb.

"Obviously the highlight of the night was Olivia Trautman and Ragan Smith," Kindler said. "Olivia getting that 10.0 this week with that awesome stuck vault, it was amazing."
The Sooners started with a 49.525 on vault, their third-highest score of the season. Smith led things off with a career high 9.8 on her Yurchenko full. OU then put up five 10.0 start value vaults, beginning with a 9.875 from sophomore Allie Stern in the No. 2 spot. Senior Jade Degouveia notched a 9.850 in the No. 3 spot. Sophomore Evy Schoepfer anchored the Sooners with a 9.825.

Junior Anastasia Webb was nearly perfect for the second time this season and she stuck her Yurchenko 1.5 cold for a career best 9.975. Webb's high score set up Trautman for her second career perfect 10 and first on vault.

On bars, the Sooners posted a 49.475 to move to a team score of 99.000 after two rotations, however, the team received a one-tenth neutral deduction after competing out of order.

Trautman led off with a 9.875, followed by a 9.850 from junior Karrie Thomas in her return to the lineup for the first time since Jan. 20. Freshman Vanessa Deniz added a 9.825 in the No. 3 spot with a 9.850 coming from Webb in the No. 4 spot.

Degouveia nailed her dismount to earn a 9.95 in the No. 5 spot, followed by a 9.95 from Smith to close out the rotation on a high note.

OU had a slightly uncharacteristic night on beam, posting a 49.225. Trautman led off with a 9.775 with freshman Jenna Dunn adding a 9.800 in the No. 2 spot. Schoepfer notched a 9.800 in the No. 4 spot.

Smith and Webb anchored the Sooners with matching 9.925s.

"On beam, the routines were solid," Kindler said. "We missed almost every dismount. When you miss your dismount, you are getting in the 9.8 range when it would've been a 9.9. We suffered from some non-stuck landings there. Otherwise, I thought the performances were really good."

The Sooners rebounded on floor with a 49.525, the third highest mark of the year on the event. Sophomore Jordan Draper led off the final rotation with a 9.875. Smith had a career night on floor as she earned a near-perfect 9.975 in the No. 2 spot.

Sophomore Emma LaPinta matched her career high with a 9.8 in the No. 4 spot while Deniz added a 9.875 in the No. 5 spot. Anchoring for the Sooners was Webb who earned a 9.9.

"Floor, again there were so many little things we could work on," Kindler said. "You could see we were a little gassed and there was some fatigue. I think our team has been ill this week with a lot of respiratory things and I could see that they were saving up on their dance to have the energy to tumble. I think that we need to get healthier."

The Sooners are back at Lloyd Noble Center Saturday, Feb. 29, for a top-five match up featuring Big 12 rival Denver. The meet is slated for an 11:15 a.m. start on ESPNU.
