Sooners Intrasquad Set for Saturday

NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma men's gymnastics team will hold its annual red-white intrasquad scrimmage at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday at the Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center. The meet will not be open to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions but fans can keep up via the Oklahoma Men's Gymnastics social media platforms.

Members of the 2020-21 Sooners will compete against each other on all six events, getting back into the groove of competition ahead of the start of the 2021 season.

From their 2020 squad, OU returns CGA Regular Season All-Americans from a season ago, senior Gage Dyer (FX, PB, HB) and junior Vitaliy Guimaraes (FX, VT). Prior to OU's 2020 season being halted due to the pandemic, the Sooners were ranked No. 2 in the country and held an 8-2 record.

OU begins its 2021 campaign in Colorado Springs, Colo., at the annual Rocky Mountain Open on Jan. 16. The home slate will begin on Jan. 23 with Air Force visiting McCasland Field House in Norman. The complete 2021 schedule will be released at a later date.
