August 15, 2019 | Men's Gymnastics

NORMAN – Ten members of the 2018-19 University of Oklahoma gymnastics team were named to the College Gymnastics Association's Academic Scholar-Athlete team, the organization announced last week.

The Sooners finished the year with the fourth-best team cumulative GPA (3.247) for the 2018-19 academic year out of all Division I men's gymnastics programs.

Six OU student-athletes were named first team Scholar-Athlete All-Americans by the CGA: seniors Levi Anderson, Peter Daggett, Eric Holley, Brian Schibler and Genki Suzuki along with freshman Morgan Seyler. Schibler earned special recognition for the third consecutive season for achieving a 4.0 grade point average.

Seniors Jake Maloley and Cameron Wright and juniors Tanner Justus and Matt Wenske garnered second-team All-America status to round out the Sooners' 10 members on the list.

The 10 All-Americans rank as the second-best mark in program history, second only to the 2017 team's 12 Scholar-Athlete All-Americans.
