OU to Play in 2020 Shriners Hospital for Children College Classic

NORMAN — The Oklahoma baseball team will take part in the 2020 Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic to be played Feb. 28-March 1, 2020 at Minute Maid Park in Houston, the Houston Astros announced Monday.

The field for the 20th annual tournament boasts a Big 12 vs. SEC theme, as the Sooners will be joined by fellow Big 12 members Baylor and Texas, as well as Arkansas, LSU and Missouri from the SEC.

Oklahoma will face Arkansas on Friday, Missouri on Saturday and LSU on Sunday. Tickets for the classic will be available for purchase in November from the Astros website at Astros.com/CollegeClassic.

The Sooners are making their second appearance in the tournament. In 2008, OU defeated Houston and Tennessee after falling to Rice in the opener. Oklahoma has played at several other Major League ballparks in recent years, including the 2014 season at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, against UT Arlington, in 2016 at the Dodgertown Classic at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles; and in 2019 at Target Field against Minnesota.
