OU, UConn to Meet in Basketball HOF Showcase

NORMAN – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Thursday the matchup of the sixth annual Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase presented by Citi on Sunday, December 22 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.

The event will feature a doubleheader with Oklahoma taking on UConn, while Florida State face Michigan. OU last played in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase in 2017, facing UConn.

The game is the third of a four-year series between the Sooners and Huskies. OU led UConn for over 30 minutes in last year's matchup in Norman, before the Huskies rallied to pick up a 72-63 win.

"We have immense respect for UConn and look forward to the opportunity to compete against their program for the third straight season,” OU head coach Sherri Coale. “The Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase presents an outstanding opportunity for our team, but as well for women's basketball fans to see top-tier programs compete against one another in a fantastic environment."

“Our fans always have a great turnout at Mohegan Sun Arena, and I don't expect any different for this year's Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase,” UConn head coach Geno Auriemma said. “This is our sixth straight time competing in this game, and I think it will be a great atmosphere and great event against Oklahoma.”

General public tickets will go on sale Friday, Sept. 6 at 9 a.m. CT via all Ticketmaster outlets and the Mohegan Sun Arena box office.

Game time and time television details will be released at later date.
