NOTES AND NUMBERS FOR MEETS TEN

ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The No. 1 Oklahoma gymnastics team will hit the road for the seventh time this season, traveling to No. 7 Michigan. The Sooners and Wolverines will square off on Saturday, March 9, at 1 p.m.. CT.

ROAD WARRIORS
On Saturday, the Sooners will look to build upon their 79-11 all-time true-road record under head coach K.J. Kindler. OU has won 18 of its last 19 meets on the road, dating back to 2016.

THE REMATCH
On March 3, the most anticipated meet of the season came down to the wire as the No. 1 Sooners took down the No. 2 UCLA Bruins, 197.775-197.575, in front of a record-crowd of 10,177 at Lloyd Noble Center. Just like the 2018 regular season meet, the two teams went into the final rotation tied after UCLA tallied a perfect score on each of the first three events. The Sooners used one of their best floor rotations of the season to secure the victory, counting five scores of 9.9 or better in the final rotation.

TOP TOTALS
Of the nation's top totals this season, the Sooners hold the top three scores and have four scores in the top 10. OU is the only team to hit the 198 mark in three meets, holding the top spot with a 198.325 (Feb. 1), the No. 2 spot with a 198.075 (Feb. 15) and the No. 3 spot 198.050 (Jan. 5). OU also holds the No. 7 spot with a 197.975. UCLA has three scores in the top 10, while Florida, Utah and LSU each have one.

NQS BREAKDOWN
After taking down the No. 2 team in the country, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team continued its stay at the top of the rankings with a national qualifying score (NQS) of 197.940. NQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be from road contests. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. NQS scores are used to determine seeding for NCAA regional competition at six campus sites on April 4-6. The Sooners' 197.775 on Sunday raised their NQS by .015 after replacing a 197.700 from the list of six scores currently being used to calculate the ranking. Additionally, Oklahoma ranks in the top three on all four events, including the top spot on vault and bars with a 49.515 and 49.535, respectively. OU ranks second on beam with a 49.430 NQS and third on floor with a 49.530.

TEN POINT “O”
Freshman Olivia Trautman became the fourth freshman in program history to earn a perfect 10 on Feb. 15. Trautman was the final routine of the night and put an exclamation point on the Sooners' win as she performed a flawless floor routine to earn her first perfect score. She joined teammates Brenna Dowell (bars), Maggie Nichols (vault, beam, floor, bars) and Anastasia Webb (beam) as the only Sooners to earn a perfect 10 in their freshman campaigns. Trautman is the third gymnast in 2019 to earn a perfect 10 on floor (Katelyn Ohashi, UCLA; Lynzee Brown, Denver) and the third OU gymnast to record a perfect 10 this season (Maggie Nichols, vault; Nicole Lehrmann, bars).

CLOUD 9.9
The Sooners have posted 104 scores of 9.9 or better during the first three meets of the year. With 214 routines under their belts, that means that 48 percent of the routines competed have scored at least a 9.9. The Sooners have put up double-digit scores of 9.9 or better in of seven of nine meets, tallying 17 against Florida, 14 at the Perfect 10 Challenge, 13 at the Metroplex Challenge, 12 against Arkansas and UCLA and 10 each against Georgia and UNC.

CLUB 197
The Sooners have posted a score of at least 197 or higher in 53 of their last 54 meets. Currently, the Sooners' streak is at 18 meets with a score of at least 197, and 10 of those meets have featured a score of at least a 198. The Sooners are one of just four teams that have scored a 197 or better in every meet (Utah, UCLA, Florida).

TO 198 AND BEYOND
With a 198.050 in its opening meet, the Sooners became the only team in NCAA history to break 198 in the first meet of the year. OU added a second score of 198 or better with a 198.325 on Feb. 1, the highest score in the nation thus far. OU also tallied a 198.075 on Feb. 15. The Sooners now have 21 marks of 198 or better since the 2016 season and 28 overall. No other school has more than 18 in its program history. In 2018, OU set the NCAA record with 10 scores of 198 or better in a single season.

KEEP STREAKING
The Sooners now hold the record for consecutive meets with at least a 196.00 with 114 such meets, dating all the way back to Jan. 21, 2012. With its 197.825 victory over Georgia on Jan. 11, OU broke a tie with Florida for the longest streak (2/12/10-4/15-17).

NATIONAL RANKINGS
Six Sooners hold 17 individual top-25 rankings, which are also determined by NQS. Sophomore Anastasia Webb is the lone Sooner ranked in the all-around, moving up three spots to No. 12 with a 39.470. Webb also ranks 11th on beam (9.910), 21st on bars (9.890) and 24th on floor (9.900). Three Sooners are ranked on three events each. Senior Brenna Dowell is sixth on floor (9.935), 10th on vault (9.900) and 11th on bars (9.915). Senior Nicole Lehrmann is 5th on bars (9.925), 15th on vault (9.885) and 20th on beam (9.875). Freshman Olivia Trautman is second on floor (9.955), seventh on vault (9.910) and 22nd on beam (9.870). Juniors Jade Degouveia and Maggie Nichols are each ranked on a pair of events. Degouveia is ranked sixth on vault with an NQS of 9.915 and 16th on floor (9.910). Nichols is No. 1 on beam with an NQS of 9.955 and second on bars with a 9.950.

VAULTING TO THE TOP
On Jan. 11, the Sooners became the first team in the NCAA to field a lineup of six 10.0 start value vaults since the devaluation of the Yurchenko full. OU has competed six Yurchenko 1.5s in five meets this season and is one of just three teams (Florida, Nebraska) to accomplish the feat.

DEPTH DISPLAYED
OU has showcased the depth it has on its roster with 14 Sooners appearing in at least one lineup or performing an exhibition routine. Seniors Brenna Dowell (AA), Nicole Lehrmann (VT, UB, BB) and Alex Marks (UB), juniors Jade Degouveia (VT, FX), Maggie Nichols (AA) and Bre Showers (AA), sophomores Jordan Draper (FX), Evy Schoepfer (BB, VT), Karrie Thomas (UB), Carly Woodard (BB) and Anastasia Webb (AA) and freshmen Emma LaPinta (FX), Allie Stern (VT, FX) and Olivia Trautman (AA) have all competed. Schoepfer (FX, BB, VT) and Thomas (BB) have appeared in exhibition.

QUICK HITS

Head coach K.J. Kindler now has 450 career victories after earning three wins at the Perfect 10 Challenge. Kindler has also amassed 358 victories as the head coach of the Sooners.
Junior Maggie Nichols and freshman Olivia Trautman were honored by the Big 12. Nichols was named the Event Specialist of the Week and Trautman was named the Newcomer of the Week. It was the 19^th career honor for Nichols and seventh for Trautman.
The Big 12 Championship will be hosted at the Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday, March 23, at 1 p.m. CST and will air on ESPNU.
