BERKELEY, Calif.?? The No. 1 Oklahoma men's gymnastics team closed out the regular season with two victories over No. 11 Cal and No. 18 UIC on Saturday evening inside Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, Calif.?
OU posted their best road score of the season with a 423.400 to extend the program winning streak to 113 consecutive wins and secure their fifth-straight undefeated regular season. The Sooners won all six event titles and OU gymnasts swept all six individual event titles, with senior co-captain Yul Moldauer claiming three (PH, SR, PH).
With the two tri-meet victories, the Sooners secured sole possession of the third longest winning streak in NCAA history, passing the UConn women's basketball streak of 111 which the team tied with its victory March 16 at Navy.
"We were happy to get a good road score and now set our focus on our conference championship," said Oklahoma head coach Mark Williams. "I'm really happy we've stayed in pretty good health and finished the regular season with a good meet with some good scores. We can take that and get prepared for the postseason."
OU began the meet strong on still rings, posting a 70.550, the first of four events the Sooners would go 70-plus. Moldauer claimed the event title with a 15.000 set in the anchor position. Fellow seniors Jake Maloley and Peter Daggett contributed respective routines of 14.350 and 14.000. Every Sooner gymnast went 13.600-plus on the first event of the evening for OU.?
Moving to floor exercise in the second rotation, Oklahoma put up a 71.000 to claim its second event title of the meet. Freshman Vitaliy Guimaraes was solid on the event again for the Sooners, claiming his third floor title of the season with a 14.700 routine. Two career highs were posted in the rotation, with freshman Spencer Goodell going for a 14.450 and sophomore Alexei Vernyi scoring 14.400.?
On pommel horse in the third rotation, the Sooners tallied 67.450. Moldauer claimed his second crown of the night, putting up a season-high 14.750. Fellow seniors Genki Suzuki (13.900) and Brian Schibler (13.700) chipped in big scores to help OU to its third-highest score on the apparatus of the 2019 season.?

The Sooners won their fourth event title of the tri-meet on high bar in the fourth rotation, scoring 69.850. Senior co-captain Levi Anderson won his sixth horizontal bar title of the season, tallying a 14.700 set in the anchor spot. Suzuki notched a 14.450 to take second in the event on the night.?
OU was solid on vault yet again in the fifth rotation, winning the event with a 72.800. Sophomore Gage Dyer (14.900) won the individual crown en route to tying his career best. Every Sooner gymnast went 14-plus, including senior Eric Holley posting a season-high 14.250.
Oklahoma capped the meet in impressive fashion, recording an NCAA season-high 71.750 on parallel bars. Moldauer posted an NCAA season-best 15.250 to win his third title of the meet. Three other career or season highs were set in the rotation, with Matt Wenske (14.400) notching a career best and Suzuki (14.450) and Anderson (13.850) recording season-high marks.?

The Sooners return to the friendly confines of McCasland Field House in Norman to begin postseason competition by hosting the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation conference championship. OU has claimed seven consecutive conference crowns and will look to extend the streak to eight against conference foes Air Force, Cal and Stanford. Tickets can be found here.
The meet will begin at 4 p.m. inside McCasland Field House in Norman and be broadcast live on FOX Sports Oklahoma.?The Sooners host the conference championships for the first time since the 2014 season. The team claimed last season's conference title by nearly ten points over second-place Stanford.
