PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – Giselle Juarez struck out 11 batters and Sydney Romero delivered a two-run home run to lift the No. 4/4 Oklahoma softball team past No. 14/13 Arizona on Saturday afternoon at Big League Dreams Sports Complex.

Juarez's performance was good for her second double-digit strikeout game in as many appearances this weekend. She moved to 5-0 on the year with the complete-game win.

The Glendale, Ariz., product carried a no-hitter through six innings, retiring 18 of the first 19 batters she faced. After the Wildcats (9-5) brought a run across on two hits in the seventh, Juarez shut the door for OU (11-2) with a strikeout.

Romero's sixth-inning homer proved the difference maker in Saturday's pitchers' duel. With Nicole Mendes on second, Romero crushed her fourth home run of the season to left field.

The senior infielder finished the day 2-for-3, marking her second multi-hit game of the tournament. Additionally, Romero's pair of RBIs were good for her third mutli-RBI performance of 2019.

Senior Falepolima Aviu registered OU's other hit against Arizona ace Taylor McQullin, who fell to 3-4 on the year.

Up next, the Sooners wrap up the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic with a Sunday doubleheader, taking on Cal State Fullerton at 11 a.m. CT and UC Santa Barbara at 1:30 p.m. CT.
