Moldauer Sweeps Weekly Awards

NORMAN — Oklahoma men's gymnastics senior Yul Moldauer was named NCAA and MPSF Gymnast of the Week, the NCAA and conference announced this week.

Moldauer, a Sooners co-captain, claimed the senior all-around title at the Winter Cup Challenge in Las Vegas, Nev., last weekend with an 84.500 score. He edged out fellow U.S. national team member Sam Mikulak's 84.450. The victory marked Moldauer's second career Winter Cup all-around crown, the other coming in 2017.

With the title, Moldauer retained his spot on the U.S. Senior Men's National team for the fourth consecutive year. The reigning NCAA all-around champion also competed in event finals at the Challenge, taking home fourth on pommel horse, posting a two-day total of 27.150.

The No. 1 ranked OU men's gymnastics team returns to NCAA competition Saturday, Feb. 23, for a top-three matchup against the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines at McCasland Field House in Norman.

The meet will serve as Cleveland Elementary Day, with Cleveland Elementary students in Norman receiving free T-shirts with the purchase of tickets before Feb. 15. Fans are encouraged to wear white as the OU squad looks to "white out" the Field House stands. Tickets can be found here.
