Sooners Ready for National Qualifier

NORMAN – Looking to secure a spot at U.S. Championships in August, four current Sooners and a pair of alumni head to Colorado Springs, Colo., to compete at the National Qualifier on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Sophomores Gage Dyer and Alexei Vernyi, junior Tanner Justus, senior Genki Suzuki, and alumni Kanji Oyama (2013-15) and Colin Van Wicklen (2014-17) are set to take on a competitive field at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

This marks the first time Suzuki will be eligible to compete at the National Qualifier after becoming a U.S. citizen this May.

Seniors Levi Anderson and Yul Moldauer have already qualified for next month's championship by virtue of their all-around finish at the NCAA Championships. As a current member of the U.S. Senior National Team, Allan Bower (2014-17) has also qualified. Incoming freshmen Spencer Goodell and Vitaly Guimaraes will compete in the junior division in August.

U.S. Championships will take place August 16-19 in Boston, Mass., at TD Garden.
