Williams Shines at McDonald's All-American Game

NORMAN – Oklahoma women's basketball signee Madi Williams scored 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds in 2018 McDonald's All-American Game Wednesday night in Atlanta at Phillips Arena. Williams' East squad fell 82-79 to the West team.

Williams, a 6-0 wing who is rated the No. 8 prospect by Prospect Nation, led the East team in scoring, finishing 6-of-11 from the field. The Fort Worth, Texas, native added five offensive rebounds, two assists and a block in 20 minutes of action.

Williams is the seventh OU signee to compete at the prestigous event. Courtney Paris earned MVP honors at the 2005 McDonald's All-American Game. Ashley Paris (2005), Abi Olajuwon (2006) and Amanda Thompson (2006), Aaryn Ellenberg (2010) also competed in the prestigious all-star game before beginning their careers at Oklahoma.

This season at Trinity Valley School, Williams averaged over 25 points, 15 rebounds and four steals per contest as a senior. Williams averaged 20.0 points per game as a junior at Trinity Valley School, while participating in trials for USA Basketball's 2016 U16 World Championship Team and the 2017 U17 World Championship Team.

Williams will also compete in the Jordan Brand All-Star Classic on April 8 at 2:30 p.m. CT in Brooklyn, N.Y. at Barclays Center.
