NORMAN –At the end of the regular season, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is the No. 1 team in the nation. The Sooners, who picked up two wins over the weekend and topped the 198 mark for the seventh time this season, have now held the top spot for 10 straight weeks.
OU's weekend scores of 197.925 and 198.175 bumped its program and NCAA record regional qualifying score to 198.120. LSU remained in second with an RQS of 197.980, followed by UCLA with a 197.840. Utah (197.540) and Florida (197.365) round out the top five.
The Sooners are the only program to ever record back-to-back seasons with an RQS of 198 or better. OU is also the only program to ever achieve the feat heading into postseason competition.
RQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. RQS scores are used to determine seeding for NCAA regional competition at six campus sites on April 7.

Additionally, the Sooners are in the top five on all four events, posting regional qualifying scores of 49.535 (vault; No. 1), 49.520 (bars; No. 2), 49.605 (beam; No. 1) and 49.530 (floor; No. 3). OU also possesses the highest average on vault and bars.
Seven Sooners hold 17 individual top-25 rankings, which are also determined by RQS.
Sophomore Maggie Nichols is ranked first in the all-around with a 39.830 RQS, a mark that is better than the highest score of all other all-around competitors. Nichols is first on vault (9.975) and beam (9.980), tied for third on floor (9.960) and tied for fifth on bars (9.950).
Junior Brenna Dowell is tied for second on vault (9.945), tied for 23rd on bars (9.900) and tied for 15th on floor (9.915). Junior Nicole Lehrmann is eighth (9.945) on bars. Senior Stefani Catour is tied for 20th on beam (9.900) and tied for 25th (9.895) on bars.
Freshman Anastasia Webb is 11th in the all-around (39.495), tied for 15th on beam (9.910), tied for 15th on floor (9.915) and tied for 18th on vault. Senior AJ Jackson is tied for 23rd on vault (9.885). Sophomore Bre Showers is tied for 15th on beam (9.910).
This weekend, postseason competition begins for Oklahoma as it heads to the Big 12 Championship, scheduled for 4 p.m. CT on Saturday inside Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.
The Sooners will be in pursuit of their seventh straight conference championship and 10th under Kindler. The meet, which will pit OU against No. 13 Denver, No. 25 West Virginia and Iowa State, will air through FloGymnastics (subscription required).
