LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Oklahoma wrestling team dropped a Big 12 contest with No. 22 Wyoming, 26-9, on Sunday afternoon inside UniWyo Sports Complex.

Three Sooners claimed wins in the dual, coming at 125, 174 and 197 pounds.

Andrew Dixon struck first for the Sooners, taking down Luke Paine by 4-2 decision at 197 pounds. Dixon recorded a takedown in the first period to create a 2-0 advantage, and he added on an escape in the second and a penalty point in the third to secure the 15th win of his senior season.

No. 17 Christian Moody added three more points for OU with a 3-1 overtime decision over Drake Foster at 125 pounds. After regulation ended in a 1-1 tie, Moody took Foster down in the first sudden-victory period for the win.

In the final bout of the contest, No. 10 Yoanse Mejias defeated Kyle Pope, 8-3, at 174 pounds. Mejias opened the match with two takedowns and a four-point nearfall to build an 8-1 lead in the first period, and Pope was unable to overcome the deficit.

In the dual-opening 184-pound bout, Matthew Waddell was defeated by Chaz Polson in a 16-0 technical fall. At heavyweight, Connor Webb dropped an 8-4 decision to Sam Eagan. Jake Rubio was defeated by No. 8 Montorie Bridges at 133 pounds in an 11-1 major decision. At 141 pounds, Mike Longo was downed by No. 1 Bryce Meredith in a 19-3 technical fall.

No. 20 Davion Jeffries was narrowly edged by Sam Turner, 8-7, at 149 pounds. Justin Thomas fell by 4-1 decision to No. 10 Archie Colgan in the 157-pound match. No. 13 Branson Ashworth of Wyoming took down Dawaylon Barnes, 8-4, at 165 pounds.
