NORMAN – Oklahoma used a strong defensive effort as freshman Ana Llanusa scored 27 points to help the Sooners defeat No. 21/21 West Virginia, 76-57, on Saturday.
The game marked OU's annual Play4Kay as the Sooners (12-11, 7-5 Big 12) wore pink uniforms against the Mountaineers (17-6, 5-6 Big 12). The victory was OU's fourth straight home win over West Virginia since the 2014-15 season.
Llanusa made a career-high six 3-pointers and tied her career high with 27 points. The freshman scored 15 of her 27 points in the first half, while finishing 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. Llanusa also added six rebounds in 40 minutes.
Vionise Pierre-Louis had 13 points, six rebounds and five blocked shots, as the senior moved into third place all-time at OU with 201 career blocks. Maddie Manning chipped in 12 points, three assists and three rebounds.
Gabbi Ortiz became the third player in school history to hit 200 career 3-pointers, hitting her lone triple in the second quarter. Ortiz finished with nine points and a team-high four assists. Gileysa Penzo filled the box score with seven poinits, six rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Katrina Pardee had 13 points to lead the Mountaineers. OU held West Virginia's leading scorer Teana Muldrow had a season-low five points, just her second game without double figures.
After OU led by five at the half, West Virginia tied the game at 35-35 midway through the third quarter. The Sooners responded quickly with a 7-0 run to take the lead for good and never looked back. The Sooners shot .594 (16-of-27) from the field in the second half to stretch its lead out to 22 with 3:15 to go.
The Mountaineers were limited to 8-of-27 (.296) shooting in the second half as OU forced 22 West Virginia turnovers. The Sooners also logged 10 blocks, which tied a season high. Ijeoma Odimgbe matched her career high with three blocks off the bench.
OU finished with a .509 field goal percentage and shot .409 from deep, hitting 9-of-22 from 3-point range against the Mountainners. OU limited West Virginia to a .321 field goal percentage from thefloor and .278 from beyond the arc.
OU faces a quick turnaround as it travels to No. 3/3 Baylor on Monday night. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.

• Ana Llanusa tied her career high with 27 points and set her career high with six 3-pointers. Llanusa's 27 points are the fifth-most points by an OU freshman in a Big 12 game in school history (tied for the 10th most by an OU freshman in a single game). She joins Courtney Paris (three times) and Aaryn Ellenberg as the only Sooner freshman to score 27 points or more in a Big 12 game.
• Vionise Pierre-Louis recorded fourth game with at least five blocks. The senior moved into third place all-time at OU with 201 career blocks. She's one of three players in school history with at least 200 career rejections (Courtney Paris and LaNae Jones). OU's 10 blocks tied a a season high.
• Gabbi Ortiz hit her 200th career 3-pointer in the win, becoming the third player in school history to accomplish the feat, joining Aaryn Ellenberg and Erin Higgins.
• WVU leads the all-time series, 8-7, with the Sooners. OU is 5-2 against the Mountaineers in Norman and has won four straight matchups against WVU insided Lloyd Noble Center.
