SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS

Dallas Baptist, the second consecutive member of the Missouri Valley Conference to face OU, enters the contest with a 3-3 record after being swept on the road by No. 11 Clemson. Outfielder Jameson Hannah, a 2017 First Team All-MVC pick, guides the Patriots' offense with a team-high .364 batting average, eight hits and three doubles. Tim Millard has collected six runs, six hits including four extra-base knocks, and is tied for the team lead with five RBI. Reliever MacGregor Hines has stuck out seven in 4.1 innings of work, while holding batters to a .071 batting average.

LAST TIME THEY MET

In the last game of an eight-game road trip, the Sooners fell 16-10 in Dallas. The Patriots took an early lead, but Oklahoma answered back to tie the game at two. DBU then exploded for 10 runs over the next three frames and never looked back despite the Sooners' seven runs over the final three innings. OU outfielder Ben Hollas went 3-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored.

ALL-TIME VS. DBU

Oklahoma leads the overall series 22-11. The Patriots have dominated the series since 2011 as they have won 12 of the last 13 meetings between the two teams. The lone Sooners' victory during that stretch came in 2016 in Norman, when they defeated the Patriots 12-2. In the victory, Jake Irvin earned the first win of his career and shortstop Sheldon Neuse homered, scored twice, and drove in a pair of runs. The two sides have each won three times when playing at DBU's home ballpark.
