NORMAN – With last weekend's Winter Cup in the rearview mirror, the Oklahoma men's gymnastics team looks to maintain its No. 1 overall ranking when it returns to action this weekend against No. 9 Navy.
The Sooners are almost halfway through the regular season and have held the top average every week that they have competed. After posting the top score in the NCAA twice this season, OU's three-score average is 416.167, which is tops in the country. It also holds the top score on parallel bars (69.867) and high bar (68.083), and ranks second on still rings (70.283) and third on pommel horse (67.750) and vault (71.767).
Individually, Yul Moldauer finds himself in the top 10 in three events, ranking first on floor (14.533), second on still rings (14.750) and sixth on pommel horse. Hunter Justus is tied for the third-best average on vault (14.633), Genki Suzuki ranks fourth on high bar (14.117) and 10th on parallel bars (14.017), and Reese Rickett sits in ninth on still rings.
