NORMAN – Freshman guard Ana Llanusa has waited for this summer to come for a long time. Now that she is a part of the OU women's basketball program, Llanusa's dream of playing for the Sooners is now a reality.
Llanusa, who grew up 30 miles away from Norman in Choctaw, Okla., comes to OU after putting together one of the best high school careers in state history. She led Choctaw High School to the 2017 6A State Championship, earning multiple player of the year honors and a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention selection as a senior. Llanusa also won the prestigous Jim Thorpe Female Player of the Year Award by the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Assocation after finishing her career with 2,249 points.
Her teammates have quickly noticed her scorer's mentality in the practice gym, but what does Llanusa like to do her in spare time?
