August 25, 2017 | Men's Golf
NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's golf team will start the 2017-18 season ranked No. 3 in the preseason Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.
The Sooners earned 460 points and garnered 10 first-place votes, the most of any team in the poll. It also marks the highest ranking for the Sooners under ninth-year head coach Ryan Hybl.
Oklahoma State was ranked No. 1 in the poll, while Vanderbilt, Baylor and Illinois rounded out the top five. Texas, LSU, USC, Oregon and Florida were ranked inside the top 10.
The Sooners return All-Americans Blaine Hale, Brad Dalke and Grant Hirschman along with senior Rylee Reinertson from last year's NCAA championship team.
The defending national champions open the season next Friday at the Carmel Cup in Pebble Beach, Calif.
